Nominations for the CASC board invited

At CASC’s next AGM (May, 2014), they will be holding elections for members of the board.  On the board, CASC tries to ensure that a balanced representation across various lines (including geographically, sector and academic).  If you would like to nominate someone (or indicate interest yourself) for the Board, please send names to dreed@yorku.ca

Serving on the CASC Board

As a board member, you are a steward of the organization. You participate in decision-making and organizing around such activities as the annual conference, building the network of co-operative researchers, and other related activities. The CASC board typically meets monthly by phone/skype. Upon being elected, you could consider a role such as President (who convenes and chairs meetings and oversees all projects of the board), Vice-President (accountable for the website), Program Chair for the conference (prepares call for proposals, reviews submissions, organizes program and logistics with a small team), Program Committee Member or other roles as needed by the organization.

Criteria

Candidates must be:

  • A member of CASC at the time of election
  • An individual who supports the goals of CASC (academics, practitioners and students are all eligible)
  • Able to commit the time to attending meetings and participating in select projects between meetings
