CASC President Darryl Reed honoured at the 2015 ACE Institute

Darryl Reed, CASC’s President, has received an award from the Association of Cooperative Educators (ACE) for his outstanding contribution to Cooperative Education and Training. The award was presented at the 2015 ACE Institute held at the University of Massachussets-Amherst on July 14. In his acceptance speech, Darryl reasserted the importance of collaboration between practitioners and researchers, and the potential which co-operators have to influence universities’ curriculum on teaching the co-op model by emphasizing the fact that co-operatives, like universities, work for the public good.

The ACE Institute is held annually to promote co-operative education and facilitate new knowledge around co-operatives. The theme of the 2015 ACE Institute was « Learning from Each Other – Inspiring change.

Darryl Reed, président de l’ACÉC , a reçu un prix de l’Association of Cooperative Educators (ACE) pour sa contribution exceptionnelle à l’éducation et la formation coopérative. Le prix a été remis lors du Congrès annuel d’ACE tenu à l’Université du Massachussets à Amherst le 14 Juillet.

Dans son allocution de remerciement, Darryl a réaffirmé l’ importance de la collaboration entre les praticiens et les chercheurs. Il a insisté sur le potentiel des coopératives d’influencer le curriculum des universités pour l’enseignement du modèle coopératif en mettant l’accent sur ​​le fait que les coopératives, comme les universités, travaillent pour le bien public.

ACE tient chaque année un congrès pour promouvoir l’éducation coopérative et faciliter la diffusion de nouvelles connaissances autour de coopératives. Le thème 2015 du Congrès ACE était « Apprendre les uns des autres – inspirer le changement >>.
